I have recently finished my studies and I would like to take a training post with your Organization. Does the IMVF accept applications?

The Institute Marquês de Valle Flôr offers curricular trainings to final year students and newly graduates. This is generally a 3 month training and it is not paid. There is also the possibility to undergo professional training, under the Professional Training Program (Programa de Estágios Profissionais) of the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional - IEFP), for a 9 month period. To apply for a training scheme in the IMVF, please send us your résumé along with a cover letter explaining your motivations.

I would like to do voluntary work in my free time. Can I do that within the framework of the IMVF projects?

The IMVF does not usually carry out volunteer actions. In this case, anyone interested should get in touch with the Portuguese Platform of Non-governmental Development Organizations. This is the right entity to inform and clarify any doubts about volunteer work. Here you can obtain information on NGDOs that accept volunteers and the areas of activity covered.

Does the IMVF grant scholarships?

The IMVF has no scholarship grant programme. Nevertheless, it annually grants an award to the best medicine student of the University Eduardo Mondlane, in Mozambique.

How can I collaborate with the IMVF?

There are several ways in which you can collaborate with the IMVF.

Technical support
The IMVF accepts the collaboration of technical experts in several areas, when considered necessary within the framework of the projects in progress.

Donations
Another way to collaborate with the IMVF is through a donation, be it financial or material. You can also make a donation through your income tax return, corresponding to 0,5% of the settled value.

How do donations through the income tax return work?

Under nº6 of Article 32 of the Portuguese law 16/2001, you can donate 0,5% of the settled tax value to the IMVF through your income tax return. This procedure does not imply any increase in your income tax return or loss in the tax refund, once it is deducted from the value that would be paid to the Portuguese state. To make this donation just fill out Form H, screen 9, line 901 with the designation: Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr and the NIPC: 501066055
