The National Library, in the city of Praia, in Cape Verde will host on the 19th of March the seminar “Policies Coherence for Development: results and future challenges”, in which will be presented the handbook “Practices of Policies Coherence for Development” developed within the Project “Policies Coherence for Development – the challenge for active citizenship in Cape Verde.”

This gathering will be attended by the deputy of the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic Mónica Ferro, the Secretary General senior adviser of OECD and the head of Policies Coherence for Development Ebba Dohlman. Both politicians will share the panel dedicated to the Policies Coherence for Development in the World and the receiving countries.

Studies regarding Fishing, Agriculture and Environment will also be presented, as well as a handbook comprising the main results achieved by the project over the last three years of operations in Cape Verde.

This meeting intends to provide a debate forum which provides the opportunity to share experiences and reflect about the future of Policies Coherence for Development and Public Policies for Development. The goal of this seminar is to promote a creation of a new Monitoring Centre which will allow following up this issue at a national level.

The opening session of the seminar will be held by the Executive Secretary of the NGO platform in Cape Verde Mário Moniz, the Portuguese Ambassador in Cape Verde Bernardo Lucena and the Head of the EU Delegation in Cape Verde, Ambassador José Manuel Pinto Teixeira.

This action is one of many planned activities under the Project “Policies Coherence for Development – the challenge for active citizenship in Cape Verde ” promoted by the IMVF in partnership with the Cape Verde NGO platform, funded by the European Union and Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P.
