The Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr will launch the book “Health for All: 25 years at the service of Sao Tome and Principe” next Wednesday, the 15th of April, at 6:30 pm at the auditorium 2 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Fundation. The event’s closing session will feature the intervention of the Assistant Secretary of State for Health, Fernando Leal da Costa.
As part of the celebration of the 25 years of the Health for All, in Sao Tome and Principe, the book “Health for All: 25 years at the service of Sao Tome and Principe” gathers a set of stories about the project, about its actors, and of all those who in a spirit of cooperation and solidarity contributed to the achievement of this project. This is a tribute book to all those who support and are part of this program.
The event will feature a panel with Luís Amado, Former Foreign Minister of Portugal for about “Cooperation in Health and Development Engine”, João Paço, clinical director of CUF Infante Santo Hospital and head of medical officer’s expert in otorhinolaryngology in Sao Tome and Principe and Luís Campos, director of Medicine Department IV of Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental and President of the National Council for Quality in Health.
The ceremony also features interventions from Isabel Mota Executive Director of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Ana Paula Laborinho chairwoman of Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P. and Paulo Freitas Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMVF.
The program Health for all with the support of European Union, Portuguese Cooperation through Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P., Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, General Directorate for Health of Portugal and PT Innovation in partnership with Sao Tome e Príncipe Government have developed since 1988 an extensive programme in Health of Sao Tome e Príncipe. This Project is recognized as public interest by the Portuguese state and by the United Nations as an example of good practice in sustainable development, and has been the target of numerous awards and national and international recognition.
