Objectives:

Overall: contribute to an improved quality of Global Learning within non-formal education through building skills, knowledge and understanding about theory and practice of Global Learning; to increase the numbers of multipliers for Global Education in Europe; to contribute to the active engagement of European citizens as advocates towards a fairer and sustainable globalised society.

Specific: develop, assess and disseminate an innovative, state-of-the-art training course geared towards civil society representatives from Germany, Romania and Portugal and encompassing Global Learning approaches as well as actions challenging the social dimension of globalisation.

Beneficiaries:

Direct: 50 members of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and 400 CSOs.

Global Activities:

• Elaboration and dissemination of a survey on Global Learning Practices in Portuguese CSOs, whose results were published in the study “Global What? – Facts and Needs of Global Citizenship Education in Portugal, Germany and Romania”;

• Participation in the workshop on theories and practices of Global Learning, Germany, in 2013;

• Participation in the congress “WeltWeitWissen”, 16-18 January 2014, in Germany, in which the results of the study on Facts and Needs of Global Citizenship Education in Portugal were presented; IMVF was part of the congress’ evaluation panel;

• Introduction Course “Being a Global Citizen in a Changing World”, 13th November 2014, with the objective of knowledge-sharing and reflection about issues pertaining Global Citizenship;

• Training of trainers (on-site and online) “Global What?

– Training on Global Citizenship Education”, with participants from several CSOs;

• Facilitating a round table on methodologies and practices of Global Learning;

• Organisation of the dinner-debate “How to engage youth in the causes of Global Citizenship?”, March 2016, within the European Youth Forum; this debate resulted in a document with recommendations about how to engage young people in Global Citizenship issues, which was sent to decision-makers and actors engaged in Global Citizenship Education;

• Publication of the trainers’ guide “Global How? Awakening for Global Learning”, which resulted from the training; it intends to support trainers for capacity development of multiplier agents in initiatives of Global Citizenship Education;

• Meetings with experts to elaborate and evaluate the training curriculum Global Citizenship Education in Non-Formal Education;

• Planning meetings in Portugal with AIDGLOBAL, Portuguese partner of the project;

• Meetings by Skype to prepare the activities;

• Participation in partners’ meetings.
