The Summer School about Global Challenges aims the analysis and debate of opportunities and threats that configure globalisation, public policies and development. This 2nd edition will take place between 26th and 30th September 2016 (with a duration of 20 hours), at Institute for Public and Social Policy (IPPS-IUL).

Under the banner of the Lisbon Conferences project, which IMVF and ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute are partners, and organized by the Center for International Studies of ISCTE-IUL, the course is compose of 8 themes organised in 5 panels, one per day: Geopolitics, Global Economy & Markets and Financial Flows; Growth and Sustainability & Oil, Markets and Strategy; Security Threats; Development Challenges & Global Values; and Global Players. Learning programme taught in English.

The course will include the participation of national and international experts in the various panels, such as Francisco Seixas da Costa (UAL & Ambassador), José Manuel Félix Ribeiro (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation), Clara Carvalho (CEI-IUL), António Costa Silva  (IST-UL & Partex Oil and Gas), Sandro Mendonça (Professor, ISCTE-IUL), Agostinho Miranda (Founding Partner Miranda & Associados), Ana Santos Pinto (UNL & IPRI-UNL), Ghoncheh Tazmini (SOAS), Carlos Branco (Major-General Portuguese Army), Mónica Ferro (ISCSP-UL), José Lamego (UL & LH advogados), Patrícia Magalhães Ferreira (Consultant on Development), Tiago Moreira de Sá (IPRI-UNL), Marina Costa Lobo (ICS-UL) and Miguel Santos Neves (UAL).
