CRR Youth Committee just wrapped-up a 5 days outreach awareness campaign on COVID-19 focusing on The Gambia – Senegal border communities.
The initiative is developed in close coordination, via the National Youth Council, with the sub-committee for Risk Communication and Community Engagement for COVID-19 under the National Health Emergency Committee.
The team on the field included the National Disaster Management Officer and the Public Health Officer from Janjanbureh Health Post.
Day #1 – launching at Bansang Youth center, with the presence of Regional Governor of CRR
Day #2 – visit to Barrow Kunda and Dankunku in Niamina Dankunku district and Ndawen in Niamina East
Day #3 – visit to Galleh Manda, Kerr Omar Boye, Jahanka and Njoben
Day #4 – visit to Jimbala, Ceesay Kunda, Palleh and Chamen in CRR north
Day #5 – visit to Ranerou.
More than 15, 000 Gambians from 12 villages were reached and 40 hand washing stations delivered.
Now, outreach programmes have started in Bansang and Brikamaba community radios!
