The launch of the ACCIONAD-ODS project: Actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals through the participation of local actors: a territorial approach, took place on September 10 2019, at the headquarters of the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation (AACID), in Seville.
The event was attended by several representatives of the partner organizations: the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation (AACID), the Extremadura Agency for Development Cooperation, the Andalusian Municipalities Fund for International Solidarity (FAMSI), In Loco Association and IMVF.
The ACCIONAD-ODS project seeks to improve communities’ ability to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals 11, 12 and 13 through coordinated actions by local authorities and civil society organizations from cross-border areas between Portugal and Spain (Algarve and Alentejo; Andalusia and Extremadura).
The project reflects a coherent intervention to stimulate smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, oriented towards the promotion of sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), sustainable production and consumption (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13). It promotes a cross-regional vision of the SDGs as an opportunity to address innovative sustainable development processes with different actors from different sectors.
This project is funded by the cooperation program for the promotion of the largest border in the European Union: INTERREG V Spain-Portugal (POCTEP).
